Fresh green tea leaves plucked, steamed, pan-dried and tightly rolled into green pearls. They explode like gunpowder to create a clear, amber drink that is penetrating and refreshing.
Tea Preparation
Water

The quality of water used has an impact on the quality of the tea. Always use freshly drawn water or filtered water. 

Temperature

Heat fresh water to just under a boil or to a temperature between 175-190F using an electric hot water heater or a stove top kettle.

Infusion Time

Use the infuser of your choice. Measure 1 teaspoon of tea per person. For a stronger brew preference, add an additional teaspoon for the pot. 

Once the water reaches the appropriate temperature, it should be poured immediately over the tea leaves. Keep the teapot covered to retain heat. Time steeping carefully and infuse for 4-6 minutes. When the tea is done steeping, immediately remove the tea and lightly stir. 

Caffeine Level

This green tea has less caffeine than our black teas. It's important to keep in mind that brew time accounts for the primary influence over a tea's caffeine content.

A Green Tea for When I Want to Taste Green Tea

This was my introduction to Ahmad Tea back when a friend and I performed a tea swap. Based on the strength of this one blend, I have been a fan of the brand for the past couple of years (Ahmad is now one of my cornerstone brands). This is a good. strong green that is a perfect way to wake up. It works well with honey or sugar, and I personally like to steep it for a bit long and get the full bitterness and green-tea flavor effect. I would say it tends to lean more to the coppery-side than the "leafy" side of green, making a sturdy cup. Later in the day, I sometimes like to make it and then mix in with a good quantity of water. The flavor is bold enough to still come through. If you are a fan of green tea but do not like bitterness, you can steep it for less time or use less. The flavor works there, as well.
