A special blend of tea with Earl Grey. Specially selected leaves from the hillsides of Sri Lanka and other countries, enhanced with the delightful scent of bergamot. A full-flavored tea, full of personality, and subtly balanced.

Special Blend has more bergamot than English Tea No.1 but less bergamot than Earl Grey.

Tea Preparation
Water

The quality of water used has an impact on the quality of the tea. Always use freshly drawn water or filtered water. 

Temperature

Heat fresh water to rolling boil or to a temperature of 212F using an electric hot water heater or a stove top kettle.

Infusion Time

Use the infuser of your choice. Measure 1 teaspoon of tea per person. For a stronger brew preference, add an additional teaspoon for the pot.
Once the water reaches the appropriate temperature, it should be poured immediately over the tea leaves. Keep the teapot covered to retain heat. Time steeping carefully and infuse for 5-7 minutes. When the tea is done steeping, immediately remove the tea and lightly stir.

Caffeine Level

This black tea has more caffeine than teas in our green tea range. It's important to keep in mind that brew time accounts for the primary influence over a tea's caffeine content.

This tea is tops! Literally ;)

Special Blend is the actual tea that got us hooked to Ahmad Teas after we had purchased it locally. It's a perfect blend for us! 😍 The bergamot is low-key yet substantial. We think it makes a fine morning cuppa.

One of my favorite teas

I enjoy this tea in the morning. It is full bodied and yet not bitter. Not as heavy as an Assam tea. There is a nice amount of bergamot flavor, but not too much. I’m into my second pound in this year!

The manager of a cannabis dispensary, and friend of mine, was discussing tea with me shortly before I placed this order. He suggested this since I enjoy earl grey. I'm not generally a fan of bergamot teas outside of earl grey, but this was very nice and I will order more when this is gone.

If there was one complaint, it was the shipping. One side of the package was caved in more than a little. I don't hold this against Ahmad, but the USPS has gotten more unreliable than ever since the pandemic hit. I can't make you, but I would highly recommend looking into DHL, UPS, or FedEx. Might cost more, but less chance of damage because they're more respectful of the packages. I was saved by the fact that I ordered loose-leaf tins. I ordered 500g and the tin took a good sized dent. Boxes might not have fared as well.

I enjoy a vvariety of black teas, but I always come back to the Special Blend as my favorite of favorites. That's why I purchase the 1lb package and refill my Ahmad Tin.

Special Blend

It's very hard to find great tea. Persian tea, is extremely smooth, so much so that English UK tea would be considered off.

I consider the Special Blend of Ahmad to be an Irish Blend. I have long sought a great, a perfect cup of Irish tasting tea. I can state that the Special Blend would be considered by me the PERFECT IRISH TEA. It's not too Indian, not too bitter, and requires no MILK. Brewed by itself, makes the perfect cup. Irish tea is often harsh, requiring milk to even it out. Not this brand, no, it's quite perfect.
